Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade
Fiscais que são servidores da Secretaria de Estado de Meio ambiente e Sustentabilidade (SEMAS), estiveram no garimpo São Domingos destruindo equipamentos e aplicando pesadas multas nos garimpeiros.
O citado garimpo fica em área branca, ou seja, que pode ser regularizada e já deveria estar regularizada.
Na sessão de ontem da Câmara Municipal de Itaituba, o senhor Ricardo César Almeida da Silva (foto acima), presidente da comunidade de São Domingos, esteve usando a tribuna para pedir ajuda dos vereadores junto ao governo do estado, porque os fiscais ficaram de voltar, para terminar o trabalho que eles começaram.
Ricardo disse que os fiscais colocaram um produto dentro do motor que os garimpeiros usam para o seu trabalho, ligando o motor, que trabalhou até parar totalmente danificado.
Todos os vereadores mostraram-se solidários, assumindo o compromisso de fazer alguma coisa para que através do governador Helder Barbalho seja possível parar com esse tipo de ação.
O vereador Wescley Tomaz, representante da comunidade garimpeira na Câmara, classificou como um desserviço o que está sendo feito para a região. Também disse que é uma área branca que pode ser trabalhada, e que se trata de uma área onerada, ou seja, tem alguém que requereu há muito tempo a área, mas não faz absolutamente nada na mesma.

Wescley disse ainda, que isso é inédito: a Semas do Estado está punindo garimpeiros que trabalham em área branca, enquanto o Ibama e o ICMBio só fazem isso em áreas de reserva.
A Agência Nacional de Mineração, conforme informou o vereador Wescley, deverá dar uma solução para essa questão das áreas oneradas onde se pode trabalhar até o mês de março, o que está sendo aguardado com bastante expectativa pela comunidade garimpeira.
O garimpo do São Domingos começou a ser explorado no ano de 1963. Lá existem famílias que estão trabalhando há mais de 40 anos. E segundo o presidente Ricardo César, os garimpeiros não estão provocando danos ao meio ambiente.
Foi dito na sessão de ontem pelos vereadores que falaram a respeito do assunto, que é preciso acionar os dois deputados estaduais que representam Itaituba, Hilton Aguiar e Eraldo Pimenta, e o prefeito Valmir Clímaco, para fazer essa informação chegar ao governador Helder Barbalho, pedindo dele providências para evitar que isso volte a ocorrer.
